I asked Moto for the bootloader keys...

Just for the hell of it I asked them to send me the bootloader keys through their online technical support. They replied want me to call their level 2 technical support agents and they forwarded my email to their expert team...

The first time I read the emails I thought I might be getting somewhere, but they're going to reject me somehow... I wonder what they'll tell me over the phone, I hope they let me down easily. At least I'm trying though, right? :)

Wouldn't it be funny though if they did send them to you? All those developers out there working on getting around it or trying to crack it and you just simply ask and they send it to you.

In a perfect world they would say

"Why of course you can. All we wanted was for someone to ask. While were at it, PANCAKES FOR EVERYONE!!"

I actually saw a forum post on motos website asking for the same thing. They said they didn't have them. It's locked away in the engineering dept somewhere. The op said that if you buy a house you get the keys, why not for your phone?

I agree that we should have them. were paying for the phone and service we should be able to do what ever we want. I mean what does moto get out of keeping them?

Late I know, but I like telling people about my two cents haha

I think the damn least they can do is give us the keys when they decide to stop updating it, one way or another we should be able to stay up to date on Android, I doubt they recognize or will honor that, though...

No one on here works for Motorola and can "borrow" the keys? I'm kinda surprised no one has done that yet... And yet, who wants to lose their job? Haha I would if it'd make me "the hero of the battle of the Motorola Bootloader"!

Say that again when when you're an executive for Moto and you're making seven hundred thousand dollars :p

Also TBH says that there are no keys because of the way eFuse is implemented or something like that. Once it's locked, it cannot be unlocked. :(

If Motorola were to ever do away with the locked bootloader, they most likely would not give out the key, but instead unlock it with a system update.
