We are still several days away from the release of the next HTC flagship which will launch on May 16th. The device is expected to include a new squeeze feature. This will allow you to access different functions through sensors on the sides of the phone. We have also already seen a full specs list leaked out which suggest the phone will include a Snapdragon 835 processor, Gorilla Glass 5 on top of a 5.5" QHD Display, and a 12MP camera that shoots 4K video. The specs list also says the phone will include IP57 water resistance rating.

Now it looks like HTC is confirming the fact that the new HTC U 11 will feature some sort of water resistance rating. The teaser video shows the phone emerging from a bath of water which may mean the phone is actually submersible. That would go along with the IP57 rating leak as IP57 protects your phone from being submerged in 1m of fresh water for 30 minutes. The video also shows a bead of water running down the front of the device which once again alludes to water resistance. The poor water resistance rating of the HTC 10 was a big let down last year. The HTC 10 featured an IP53 rating which meant it could only withstand a mist of water and was not submersible. I am hoping that we do see this improvement in the next flagship from HTC.
