HTC Thunderbolt Release Date

So, I've been watching this thread for a while and figured I'd register to throw in my two cents.

Just called my local BB store and talked to a guy in the mobile phone department. I told him that I had seen that the HTC Thunderbolt might be available for pre-order tomorrow, and wanted to know if he knew what time the pre-orders would start. He said that he had heard that too, but that unless there was anything official, he wasn't allowed to say anything.

I asked him a few other questions, and then before I got off the phone I said "so if I were in the store now and asked you to wink if the Thunderbolt was going to be available for pre-order tomorrow, would you wink?"

He laughed, and then said "yeah, yeah I would."

Take it how you will, but just figured I'd share.

Not that getting the push back to the 28th would make me jump ship, but with MWC coming on the 14th it might give me the time to think about it before grabbing at the TB. If all holds true we should hear about HTC dual core at MWC. Now of course this is more off a Europe thing, but with the lack of HTC at CES outside of the TB I would think that they might have something for MWC. So pending on the outcome of that combined with 2 more weeks to sit and think.. IDK.. jump ship.. probably not.. TB is a good device and really all I would need..

Hopefully it doesn't mean that Best Buy has to comply with that. If they don't then too bad for Verizon, they will loose additional sells.

I take it we'll know almost everything tomorrow, if we see ads for it and such, then prob a feb 14 date, if theres nothing, I can't imagine it coming out then..

I know im def not preordering anything if they don't tell us any prices

I saw an article that stated best buy preorders tomorrow then another big retail company would have preorder this coming week, and then it would be available on the 13th. So we will see

I wish Verizon would have waited to get the Iphone 5 this summer at least they could have built up both 3g and 4g networks to get ready for the swarm of iphones...That way they could have sold more Android phones to make all of us happy. We know it is clear the Verizon is kissing Apples ass because of how they are playing musical release dates with the 'bolt. I mean they have been testing the phone for at least 5 months now between 3g and 4g so it clearly is apple holding big red by the balls and it is sad because we are all want this phone and are willing to pay in upwards of 600 bucks to have it.

Samsung LTE

I know this is a little off topic but I read an article saying that the Thunderbolt and Samsung's LTE phone would be released on the same day. Anyone know if there is any truth to this? Also I'm having a hard time deciding between the two still but the specs on the Samsung all seem equal or better. The super amoled display, hdmi port, etc. Only thing I'm concerned about is how quickly they'll get updates out for it. Any input?

In my experience with the Droid X, Verizons release could very well be later while Best Buys earlier. Best Buy has their own inventory and stock in contrast to Verizons. While I had a bad experience initially with Best Buy due to the particular manager in the store, Best Buy ALONE allowed me to pre order with an instant rebate, where as Verizon, no for both but for a limited time had a crappy mail in rebate. While they could and likely would change the date again because of the stupid iPhone, Best Buy could have an entirely different plan than Verizon. I personally see no reason to buy a phone from Verizon any longer since they don't do pre orders and don't do instant rebates where as Best Buy does. Either way though if Verizons in control of the entire show, it would make sense and be consistent for them to change it all to a later date. Whenever Verizon says 1st quarter I usually take that to mean 2nd quarter.Though I was told to call on Sunday at Best Buy to make sure.

Their are a couple things in this i dont like. If Miami is truly in a car traveling around florida, how did he comeby this info?? If it was an email from a source, then why not just email the evidence to the forums? like just forward the sources email? If its a paper, then take a pic...then send it in. Pdf? well i can email those as well. Wtf is up with this monday thing? I would love to trust miami but this doesnt make much sense in my mind. Its like traveling in a car is an excuse to not show evidence but if he is really on the road then how was this info given to him and why wouldn't he provide any evidence? if he can email someone this info without evidence then why not email with evidence? Lets just save the drama...

Why is everyone getting so bent out of shape about the release date and saying Verizon keeps changing it to please Apple? Where has Verizon or Best Buy ever released an official date? Everyone keeps going based on people they talk to, Facebook posts, or screen shots of ordering systems. It's all rumors. Yes it sucks that we still haven't heard anything official for a date or data plan costs, but you can't ***** about Verizon screwing everyone over when they've never committed to anything.
