HTC Thunderbolt Release Date

Saw what you want about Apple, but when they give a release date they stick with it.

Apple produces ONE handset it's a lot easier for them to give a solid date on a product because of that. As far as I recall though, Verizon has never given a release date anyway other than Q1 of this year. Or maybe I missed it.

I want to wait but the wait with my droid is agonizing. I need to sell my droid x I bought on ebay last week and my early upgrade is driving me crazy. Ugh..decisions decisions. Might go to local verizon store tomorrow evening but afraid I will buy another phone.

My droid keeps deleting all my contacts, text messages, and wont let me make phone calls or send texts half the time. seriously starting to get on my nerves. I need a new phone asap, and im sick of waiting.

Now lets not get too excited. Yes it's a very good sign that SIM cards are being readied for their soon-to-be activation, but it's not a definite sign. I'll find out more tomorrow!

Sorry, I've been SUPER busy today dealing with the iPad 2 and its workings. It's pretty sleek, but I definitely prefer the Xoom. Haven't had much time to get on here today let alone even eat lunch so I will try and answer questions tonight if I have spare time; if not then tomorrow. I see I have quite a bit of catching up to do... Don't have any updates regarding the Thunderbolt as of now because I haven't even left my desk today. Regarding the 21st which I saw on BGR: I haven't heard that date mentioned, and it's still looking like the 17th, but as well all know, things tend to change and it could be a possibility (I hope not), so I'll look into that for you guys. Take it with a grain of salt for now.

Have a good day and I will (hopefully) be back with you guys tonight!

The phone is not going to release without 4g just to make 1% of Verizon's Android users happy. All the ads have said "first LTE phone", and I personally would sue (and win) on a bait and switch had I preordered.

Please everyone, stop with the entitlement. Verizon owes you nothing outside of the service you pay for. Many people here are acting like VZW broke some kind of promise...

I'm confused. You say you would sue (and win) on a bait and switch and in the next paragraph say Verizon owes us nothing outside of the service. If this phone comes out non 4g they would have broke some kind of promise right? Or are you saying they haven't broken a promise yet? I must have missed something in the past 480 something pages.

I read somewhere on this forum something about a $20 fee for LTE, is this officially released somewhere? When I find that post again I will ask the poster for verification, but I haven't heard anything official. I don't see how they can charge anything additional until the LTE coverage is as widespread as the 3G is now, but that's just my opinion.

Saying that I could win a bait and switch case if they shipped the phone without LTE means nothing. Verizon HAS advertised this as the first 4g phone! That is a promise they made to all the preorderers...(sigh)

Now, they have never told those people a definitive release date or 4g pricing, so expecting those things to be what YOU want is what I consider entitlement.

I think its coming this week, and if it doesn't. then it'll come next week. (And so on) Steve Jobs may be announcing iPhone 5 before this phone even gets a release date..

i wasnt really paying attention, just heard at the end them say whatever, htc thunderbolt on verizon and then i saw its the same commercial that pc747 put up a few pages back. guess it wasnt that new, i just hadnt seen it
