What will be the next phone out then? I'm chomping at the bit to get a new phone and am selling the droid x on ebay this weekend.
I do enjoy the physical keyboard on the droid but realize that no new phone will probably have a physical keyboard.

Wait for the Bionic or iPhone 5, both will be worth the wait.

Talked to a trusted Verizon employee, and he's convinced that it's coming on the 17th. I told him to let me know whenever he's sure of something, and this is the first date he's giving me so I'm looking forward to seeing what happens between now and then

Verizon’s Thunderbolt Showcase App Hits Market, Demo SIM Cards Activated Too

On 03.09.11, In Breaking, News, Rumors, by Kellex
We are currently playing with the HTC Thunderbolt‘s “device showcase” application that just hit the Android Market courtesy of our friends at Verizon, and for the first time are starting to feel like we are just days away from actually owning one. (Hypebeastin‘!) Now, I know that the release of this device has become a complete mess, but seriously, this is a good sign. Why exactly? Well because they plan to install this onto employee phones and demo units of the TBolt, so that they can show the features off to potential customers. This may not be a date, but it’s one of those items on the launch date check-off list that can now be crossed off.
Speaking of features, Skype with video is no where to be found in any of the demos included in this app. There are mentions of video chatting across the globe, but the term “Skype” is absent the entire time. It’s starting to look like an open-ended time frame, just like we reported on back in February. The fact that Skype is still missing from the VZW 4G site is also not helping the situation. Yikes.
And moving back on to good news! One of our connects over at Big Red informed us that certain areas were asked to “demo out” 4G SIM cards and submit the SIM IDs to be activated for Thunderbolt demo units today. And when I say “today”, I mean that this task was to be completed by the end of the day. Not tomorrow. They also mentioned that when asked to perform this similar task for 4G mobile broadband cards, that they had product within a week. Fun times.

Seems like they are working hard to build a lot of hype around the release.. hopfully it soon, i really want to see some reviews.. i think i'm holding off for the bionic though..

The 17th would be nice, but im not holding my breath.
They have until the end of march, otherwise I am highly considering an iPhone or X.

:)

They must be getting close. Employee's are demoing out 4g sim cards, and are updating there phone book transfer machines, for an "unknown" reason. This usually means a new phone is coming. Just another thing you have to do before the phone is in the stores.

I really don't see anything special about the Bionic besides its dual core =/

I didn't say it was, I just want to know what special about the Bionic over the Tb, besides dual core and the HDMI out.

The front facing camera being 0.3 megapixels VGA was the biggest let down for me, and the ram.

lets not forget the suppsed blunderbolt launch party next week on the 15th. If that is true, then there is no way it is not coming out by the 24th. And more likely the 17th, as stores would probably recieve their blunderbolt shipments the day before launch. Again, all speculation, but usually launch parties are right before device launches.

Wasn't the launch party supposed to be on the 6th as of last week?

We heard that last month. It's like they're just recycling the old rumors now.

I went earlier to BB and see if they had any info there.. The guy that was working tonight was really chill and knowledgeable about the TB.
He said that he was actually invited to go try it out couple weeks ago (Tbolt) and said its an amazing phone. I know a lot of people have gone to get a refund for their pre-order but I bit the bullet and pre ordered :icon_ banana:
I honestly dont mind waiting, I have taken it over the Bionic (I just love the look of it and actually looks like the price fits the phone haha)

the BB employee said that he believes when they do get a shipment in, it probably will be a shipment of 20-30 phones. I dont wanna be screwed out of having to wait weeks because everyone sells out of em so I pre-ordered :)

I am number 4 at my BB and though I have had thought of getting a refund, I bit my lip. I am just hoping that this phone is as good as it's hype. On a somber note, just because they are giving employees test phones as indicated in some posts here, that is NOT necessarily a good thing. These people could find issues and it could mean a new delay.
I am hoping not.
If this phone gets put off much longer, my $50.00 preorder will only be worth $ 30.00 :)
