HTC Thunderbolt Release Date

Anyone watch 30 Rock? I just saw what I think was last week's episode. They're stuck on a plane on the runway and the pilot keeps telling the passengers that they will take off in 30 minutes, even though he knows it will be hours before they depart. After 30 minutes go by he say's it'll be another 30 minutes, because 30 minutes is the most amount of time people are willing to wait without getting upset.

It just reminds me of this...we get a leak that the TB might come out in a week. OK, well a week isn't that long. Then as the day nears we get another leak that it's been pushed back, but only for another week. I just find it humorous and needed something to laugh about in this situation.

I think the reason why this phone has gotten so much attention is because of how long ago this phone was first discovered... way back in mid 2010... any yet there is nothing official..
Since that 14day window on the returns for the ifail is almost here I expect Verizon to at least give us an update on the status of the phone... at least inform their current and future consumers that the phone has been delayed for such and such reason but expect it to be out within the next week or two... or something along those lines....

I am very disapointed in both the retailer and provider concerning the release this product. The lack of communication to the customer has been a tremendous let down. Even the communication between Best Buy and Verizon is apparently deficient. How many posts have been made regarding Best Buy says this and Verizon says that?

I understand Verizon never gave a formal release date. However - they did allow Best Buy to arrange for pre-orders predicated on a fixed price & date. By virtue of that fact: a transaction occured which created mutual expectations.

Considering the features of the phone & the PRICE are now under speculation, AFTER the exchange, I find the lack of any formal indication somewhat a nefarious business practice. Its truly frustrating having to read the fine print on my pre-order paperwork in the event I decide its not worth the investment after the rules were changed.

I don't expect a hard-date. What I do expect is, "We encountered xyz and in order to maximize your use & experience with the phone we are seeking to resolve xyz before xx/xx/2028."

To sum it up. If the phone is released 03/2011 for 299.99 under the renewal contract, I am taking Best Buy & Verizon to Judge Mathis for $25 a piece + emotional damages.

On topic, i really want this phone, i just got my og droid replaced and the one i just got is already running slow, not sending texts, getting some texts 3 times etc... I hope it comes out by the end of the month but if not it'll be out soon, all the anger about it being delayed is stupid, i mean yea verizon is upsetting some people aparently by not announcing a release date but its simply that they dont have to... Overall, just cant wait to have this thing in my hands...

Best Buy is still standing by 2/24/2011 as a release date and cost is $249.99. :shrug:

Best Buy never gave us a hard date, just "we think the...". Still I don't know who to blame here, Verizon for letting Best Buy do this and letting us assume the TB was close to release, or did Best Buy just make some huge assumptions trying to get the jump on sales and dragging us down in the process.

Ok.
Here is what I think.
A lot of this will be repetitive, but please don't chew me out. :/

Anyways.
There has been a bunch of "evidence" for the twenty fourth of February. Screenshots of computers, and order forms etc.

There really hasn't been, besides no official announcements, any great evidence that the TB wil be coming in March.
Sure, there was those forms saying it had been delayed and would be pushed back, but some were referring to the so called Valentine's day release which could point to the 24th or the 28th, while the others, (if there were others), ccould refer to the 24th, and point towards a 28th launch.

I personally don't trust the BB people, and when I asked my Verizon store across my campus (I'm in tucson) a lady snapped at me, and I didn't even get to ask my question.

As for the shipments, stores can still get them tomorrow, and maybe like grocery stores get them in on the morning? Hm.

Those are just my little ideas.

I believe in a febuary date.

The devices shipped from HTC early last week so either they are sitting in NJ, or they have already been distributed across the nation. Hopefully it is the latter.

I went to Wireless Zone and they said it was coming out on the 28th. Who knows where they got that from though.
