HTC Thunderbolt Release Date

This is almost making me want to go to another carrier. Or switch to iPhone. I'm tired of games and with the $50 I put down on pre-order I can walk out of bb paying only 150...come on vzw. Loyal droid customer contemplating droidicide!

How are they playing games with you? Not once did Verizon say "its coming on the 14th", "the 17th", or any other date... BB may have taken a preorder, but that has absolutely ZERO to do with VZW. If anything BB jumped the gun, but I can't even say that. Its always said "coming soon" in their print ads...

Logic dictated that iPhone would have 2 weeks before and after launch all to itself. If that didn't occur to you, that's your problem, not Verizon's.

The hype is weird for this phone, I personally think it will end up being the Eris 2 and will quickly become obsolete. Bionic and iPhone 5 will both be dual-core... Id rather wait 4-5 months and be happy for 2 years, than be happy for 4-5 months and then be disappointed that I didn't wait. Early upgrades are gone, so do you really think a 1ghz single-core phone will be up to snub for all of 2011 and 2012?? Remember that 1ghz single-core phones came out at the end of '09. (Nexus 1) So, halfway through 2012 your phone will more than likely be as archaic as a G1 is now.

Eh, as long as the phone functions, as it should. Without lag or freezing up (all of which my D1 does) then I will be 100% happy with the phone. I don't need the latest and greatest technology as long as it works and works pretty well. Besides, I'm using another upgrade on my plan (internet card) to get the TB and then in another 12 months I get my new every two. If my D1 wasn't so laggy, and didn't glitch up and would root I wouldn't get a new phone. But hey, it happens. I learned my lesson.

The phone will come out when it comes out, can't make it come out any faster by complaining in some random thread on the internet.

My understanding is that yes, the premium retailers will have it too. I went to one this afternoon, and he told me about the 24th release, with a shipment possible on the 25th.

A friend of mine just text me from the Best Buy I pre-ordered at. I've been keeping her updated on what's going on with it so she decided to play dumb with the mobile department. They told her they don't have the phone and have not been given a release date yet.

Eris 2?!! Are you kidding?? Was the Eris even advertized on TV? LOL. It was a turd to start out with. Mark my words -the TB WILL BE a Legacy Device, just as the D1 is today. It won't go obsolete any time soon.

Have you seen the Quadrant and Smart Bench tests on this one? Pretty impressive performance for single core!
