HTC Thunderbolt Release Date

Ahh i need this phone to come out already lol... now im without a cell cuz my og droids screen just stopped working and is staying black and id rather not pay 50$ for my asurion insurance to send me another phone and anytime you go to verizon with a problem they just tell you theyll do a software update and you'll be fine... your phone could be cracked in half and they'd still say oh i think a software update should get you back on track lol

My droid's screen did the same thing but I have no insurance. My plan is to use a dumbphone until the thunderbolt is released but it's getting harder and harder each day to wait...

Don't believe it. Most, if not all, Best Buy stores have been reporting they don't have a release date yet. Don't believe anything you read, especially in comments.

I didn't want to say anything because it's all speculation and clearly Best Buy is not reliable with these dates. But still, my fiance also works for Best Buy and told me her mobile department is saying the 17th.

I know BB has got this retail exclusive thing and I think it's possible that they may get to sell a few days before vzw. However, if they were selling it tomorrow they would have put out a press release and it would be advertised on their webpage. The 17th is too optimistic.

The fact of the matter is: Best Buy won't be selling the ThunderBolt before Verizon. Think logically. Is Verizon really going to have their first 4G LTE phone go through a retailer?

Just because BB has this retail exclusive thing does NOT necessarily mean that they will sell the TBolt before VZW does. It simply means that BB is the only B&M store to sell the TBolt for a certain amount of time, then Radio Shack, Wal-Mart, etc. will start selling the phone. It may very well happen that both BB and VZW will start selling the phone AT THE SAME TIME.

I'm pretty sure this has been previously mentioned, but the retail exclusive thing just means Best Buys will be the only physical stores you can get the TB from other than the VZW stores. Verizon stores will still sell the phone, at the same time. There is no basis whatsoever for thinking BB will get the phone before the Verizon stores.

Retail exclusive doesn't include Verizon. It means you'll only be able to get it through Verizon or Best Buy.

And even then it only refers to physical stores, you can still get it from Wirefly and similar retailers online.

At this point, we're "supposedly" within a week. It WOULD NOT be out of the realm of possibility that Best Buy puts this phone on the street a few days before Verizon. Radio Shack was selling the EVO Shift 2 days before Sprint. I mean, I was with all of you when people were talking about BB having it 2 weeks before Verizon... a week or a few days however isn't crazy talk.
