I just talked to my girl at Verizon and the release date FROM VERIZON is set for 2/17/11. She's a reliable source that would know if anything has changed.

An announcement on the 14th with release on the 17th would make sense, given it is a Thursday. But there is so much talk of delay and stuff...who knows when we will ever see this.

I'm one those suggesting that VZW may be using the retail channel rumor mill to communicate to us regarding the TB. that may be so with respect to BB and maybe Amazon - but I'm also astonished to see the number of "me too" posts out there under the banner of "news". how many rumor sites are going to show the same "unboxing" video form weeks and weeks ago, repeat the same old saw, and reveal absolutly nothing just to attract hits and generate clickstream revenue for themselves?

The high price is good for those of us with upgrades who plan to enroll in the buy back program though

I agree that on contract prices that BB is often lower. My wife got her Ally last July at BB for $0 with a 2 year contract extension, vs $150 with a $100 rebate at Verizon.

I have never looked at the buyback program. When I replace my Droid, I intend to keep it as a spare and not get any insurance on the new phone, whatever it will be. If I lose it or whatever then I will go back to the Droid until I can get another one on contract or my wife can use it if something happens to her Ally. We always did that with our dumb phones, but have never had to use the backup.

I hope that it goes like this.. Although release the phone at BB on the 14th and let them have 3 days exclusive before Verizon gets it in stores..

consider this.. I was given the new vzw magazine ad tonight that gets released tomorrow. the Bolt shows coming soon with no release dates..We are going to post it shortly

That was posted in this thread last night at 10:50pm. Interesting that the Verizon ad he said would be posted, was never posted.
