This newest leak is the most detailed yet for the HTC One Max. The upcoming phablet device from HTC draws on the design queues of it's progenitor, the HTC One. As you can see in the leaked pics, the device does include a fingerprint sensor on the back as was rumored previously. Additionally, the model number of the device will be 8088. Computer nerds who have been around a long time might recognize that as the same model name for a very old Intel PC chip from 1979. Of course, this really is just a funny coincidence as the model number for the HTC One Max follows HTC's naming scheme for the HTC One lineup: 801C, 801N and 801S. Here's a breakdown of specs,
- 4MP UltraPixel Camera
- Fingerprint Sensor
- Conflicting rumors on Quad-core Snapdragon 800 or 600 processor, or even the Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 (1.7GHz, quad-core)
- 5.9 inch Full HD display
- 2GB of RAM
- Android 4.3 Jelly
- LTE and GSM
- 16GB of storage
- 3,300mAh battery
We have to admit to being a bit disappointed by this latest intel. If it is true and the HTC One Max comes without the Snapdragon 800, it will be tough to compare it favorably to all of the newest phablets which have already launched recently. Other than the large battery and the fingerprint sensor (and the attractive design aesthetics), it will be tough to justify this up against the Sony Xperia Z1 or the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. What do you guys think?
