htc incredible verizon update

I have Incredible and i keeping getting request to update. My droid is rooted will this effect my root? If so how can i stop the update request from keep coming up

Not sure how to opt out of the OTA prompt, but the general consensus is that Froyo puts up new barriers to rooting, so although there is a new root available, you will possibly be unable to re-root with what you're currently running.

I'm not rooted though, so that's about all I know. Anyone else?

there is no root availiable for the newest ota but you can manually get on the ota and get root. Installing OTA to Rooted Android follow those directions
