HP Computer Support

Well i have posted twice within about 2 weeks and havent gotten a response over on the HP support forums so i figured i would give the good D/F a shot on this. I know there are many great minds here in the community and i was just wondering if anyone may have experience with an HP G72-C55DX?

My questions a process named wmpnetwk.exe is taking up between 28-62% of the CPU and i'm wondering why? My memory usuage is between 3.2gb and 3.8gb. Anyone know how to keep make the memory usage decrease and keep wmpnetwk.exe from taking up so much CPU?

haha its alright. What im wondering is if i stopped this process and set it to manual activation would i have to go in every time i wanted to use something that required WMP and manually start the process? What i kinda want to do is just keep the usage of the CPU and Memory down but still keep the computer up and running how it came. If thats possible

Do you use media sharing through Windows Media Player? If not then I take it you can disable it and set it to manual all the time without it affect anything else.

100% Correct....No sharing? Disable it.....Nothing ill will happen.

Thanks for the quick replies. I dont really do much with media except wallpapers for my D2 and all my music is through iTunes. All though i do have a music folder for my D2 which i dont think will be bothered. One other question is disabling it wont affect watching stuff online like youtube and stuff will it? or will it just prompt me everytime it needs to be used?

It shouldn't affect anything except if you shared the media stored on your computer with another device through "the cloud". So it sounds like in your case it won't affect anything. And no it shouldn't mess with anything online.

Well thanks guys and i have never used microsoft's "cloud" software. I ended it and set it to manual. I can still play music through WMP also so its still all good. Thanks again just needed some support to make the decision.
