how to turn the screen on

I use a Trident Kracken case on my X. I have the rooted .596 GB and when I make a phone call my screen blacks out and will not light back up until the person I called hangs up, not even if I push the power button .....I noticed if I take the case off it will light up. On FROYO I never had this problem. Whats the difference now? Can I change some settings or something? I really dont wanna get rid of my case... Help

The Droid x has a light sensor on it for power saving when making a call you put your phone up to your ear the screen goes black the sensor is just above the A in Motorola if your case is covering it that's your problem as far as I know there is no setting for this sensor

yeah I noticed that but when you pull it from your ear it will light up... mine wont. it worked fine with froyo and same case. doesn't make sense

I cut the upper right hand corner screen protector out and now it works fine. There are three upper sections above the screen. The one to the right of the speaker is the light sensor. I cut the screen protector out of this section with a razor and it fixed the problem. I have a trident case, that I like, except for this flaw.
