How to turn off Google Now?

Can someone point me to where and how I can turn off Google Now - have heard that it kills battery and I am trying to find ways to conserve battery. Thank you.

I don't have an s4, but I'm on jelly bean.

Open search, menu, settings, google now slider.

Google Now doesn't kill as much battery as you think it does. I have it on 24/7 and I lose maybe 5% overnight.

You can keep it on and do this instead to conserve battery if you like Google Now:
Google Maps --> Settings --> Google Location settings --> and select "off" for location reporting and location history.

There r 2 options...
- u can stop/uninstall it in App Manager
- if u have Titanium Backup, u can simply freeze it...

Google now is indeed drains the battery...

Thank you all for your help! I will see what improvement in battery life this gets me. . Probably other tweaks I can make to improve the battery life. Lucky to get 12 hours before I have to recharge.
