How to open the same app twice?

I need to open a same app twice, e.g. I want to open 2 maps (or 2 gallery images), so I can use the switch task button (long press home key) to quickly switch between 2 maps (or 2 images).

Re-opened do to me misunderstanding what's being asked.

And to answer the question in this thread, no that can't be done. Two instances of the same app being open simultaneously isn't possible (at least on unrooted and/or stock software).
