Hi all,

Does anyone know how to move SMS from one droid pro to another with the correct time stamp and conversation grouping? I have tried SMS Backup and Restore, Super Backup, MyPhoneExplorer. None of them is successful restoring messages with the correct time stamp. Inputs appreciated.

Thanks,
Frans

You could try researching titanium backup. I've backed up my call logs and messages before that way. Sms backup and restore is what I use because order is unimportant to me.

SMS Backup & Restore (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riteshsahu.SMSBackupRestore&hl=en) is the app I've used for years and it's been flawless. Make sure to change the destination folder from the internal memory to the external (Menu, Preferences, Backup Folder, External Storage Card). There's an addon for the utility that works in conjunction with Dropbox and Google Drive for automatic cloud backup (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riteshsahu.SMSBackupRestoreNetworkAddon&hl=en). Another item worth mentioning, it keeps everything in the same chronological order with all conversations and replies in the threads, so it will look exactly the same on the new phone.

Also, the same developer makes a virtually identical utility to save your call history (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riteshsahu.CallLogBackupRestore&hl=en), which also recreates the entire call history in chronological order, and if you so choose there's even an APN backup utility (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riteshsahu.APNBackupRestore&hl=en). He's very skilled at making tools that simply work without all the fluff - My favorite types of tools. They are fast, efficient and flawless.

If you like his utilities as much as I do, consider going for the paid versions - very inexpensive and well worth it, a total of $3.49 for the SMS and Call backup tools together, or just $2,49 for the SMS tool.

Again, don't forget to change the Backup Folder to the External Storage Card!!
