How to clear route in Maps?

Last weekend, I used Maps to find a route for me. Now, whenever I open maps, the route is still there. I've looked everywhere through the menus, but have been unable to find any way to clear this route, so that I can just look at the maps with no obnoxious blue line. (The blue line makes it hard to see the colors of traffic indicators on the same roads.) Rebooting didn't change anything. Any ideas?

Can try going to settings>applications>manage applications>filter by running>and click on maps and hit clear data

Alternatively, just go to menu > layers and turn off the route there.
