How to change user name when rating apps?

I did my first rating of an app the other day, and noticed that the user name it was posted as was the first part of an unused email address. I would have thought it I'd be prompted for user name, since it was my first time. And, now that I think about it, why did it not use (part or all of) my gmail account? Very strange.

So... How/why did it use this name? And can I change it? If so, how?

I tried going into the Play Store, and looking under Settings, but couldn't find anything helpful. Thanks!!

It's your nickname in your Google/gmail account profile. If no nickname specified, it will use the email name.

Hmmm... I've looked in Settings, but can't find a way to change it. Any ideas?

Use the Gmail website: Gmail / Account / Edit email address / Nickname (optional)
