How to change IP from DHCP to Static

aloha,
I've been researching here in the forum for how to accomplish an IP change. I've tried going into settings,>wifi setting>and to my SSID. I can get the advanced dialogue box open but there's no box to allow for changes to the IP. I was wondering...Will I need to close wifi, and try to change IP before re-connecting???

Just looked on mine. Long press on your ssid. Modify. Scroll down. Check advanced box. Scroll down. Click dhcp drop down and change settings etc.

Did it while connected. Don't know if it males a difference.
