How long does it take to charge from DEAD?

I hadn't charged my phone the last 3 nights, aside from a 20 minute drive in both directions in my car dock, I ended up with maybe around 15% today. My power went out and when it came back on, I was told it would take about 4 hrs and 35 minutes to charge my phone.

Has anyone run their battery to 0%? What was the charge time?

Thanks FoxKat, again. I was actually looking to see if anyone has actually tried charging their phone up from DEAD and timing the charge time. However, seems like on my current experience, that 5 1/2 hours seems pretty accurate, but is it?

I think I get it charged up from 5% in like 3.5 hours fish but I dnt let my phone get dead a lot

I agree. Closer to 3.5 than 5.5.

Ran my battery to dead this evening. It's charging now. based on a reading I'm getting, it looks like it'll take 4 hrs, 40 minutes to charge. That's with it turned off for the first hour and then turned on for the rest of the time. I'm sure I'd get different (shorter) results if my phone was off the entire time.

5.5 hours is taking into consideration that it is powered off completely for the entire charging cycle based on the initial charging instructions. It may be that during that initial charging the battery takes longer as it works to convert all internal chemistry into available electron storage. Once it's been exercised initially it may charge faster simply because it doesn't have to work as hard. Also, if you're starting out with a partial charge it stands to reason it should take less time to reach full than a battery that is fully depleted.
