How long does it take for my contacts to come back after a hard reset?

I went to Verizon today because my phone was acting buggy and what not. The Verizon guy that was helping me decided to do a hard reset on my phone.

He said that my contacts would come back, however they have yet to reset and it's been over an hour now. I'm starting to get worried that I have lost all my contacts, which was well over 800+.

Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks!

Backup Assistant will download those contacts pretty quickly, probably the first thing the phone will do. What may take some time is for the phone to sync contacts from Facebook, Myspace, etc......

Directly from a D2

Should be instantly. From the homescreen, hit menu, settings, accounts & sync, and make sure background data and auto sync are both checked, then under manage accounts, make sure sync contacts is checked for each of your accounts. You can also force a sync by hitting the "sync now" button.

You can make sure your contact are in your google account by logging in, and checking the contacts tab. Android 1.6 had a "bug" where your contacts were saved locally by sefault to your phone, but the 2.1 upgrade should have fixed that.

I have the Motorola Droid. How do I log in to the Google web page to see My Contacks tab? Or do I have to be in my Gmail account? When I click on my gmail Icon, it sends me straight to my inbox. I can't find that contacts "tab". Thanks in advance. Jerry
