How do I save pics to my phone?

I know this is probably a very basic question but my daughter-in-law sent me a pic of my new grandson. I want to save it to the phone but it gives me no option to do so. It was sent to several people at one time so could that be why? Do I need her to send it to just my number?

If the pic was sent as a text, go into the text message it was sent in, then just long press on the picture, it will give you the option to save, along with 2 other options, obviously you want to tap on save.

If you're very new to this, I need to add, don't view the picture and then try to save it. That would be taping on the pic.... long press the pic, or touch it and keep your finger on for a moment. Hope this helps??
