How do I retrieve videos I've recorded?

Help! In the past, I've recorded videos on my phone and I've been able to download them (via USB connection) but for some reason I am now not able to find video files anymore. I've poked around in seemingly almost all folders on both the phone and the SC card and I can't find video files. I don't know what's different now from the past but something is.

Any ideas? I've got to unload a lot.

Thanks!!!

What phone do you have?

They should be located in the same folder as where your pictures are located, but usually kept on the bottom (if you're using Windows) as whatever video file format you have set.

Install QuickPic from the Store and see if any of what it sees looks like your videos. (double check the settings re: what to display)

Hey. I use QuickPic as my default app to view my pics/videos. So that's how I play the videos on the actual mobile device. Still not sure how this helps me find the .mp4 video when I connect the phone to the PC????

Thanks!

That's what I thought! That the vids should be in the same folder as my pics, but they're not. I've sorted the file types and nothing other than jpgs are in that folder.

I'm at a loss....

hmm that's odd.

Go to your gallery and find a video. Once you do that select it and bring up your menu to look at "Details". On the bottom of that little window it'll show the Path and you should be able to find it from there on your PC.

I did what you outlined above and:
-- for images I get the pathway that you describe. No problem.
Screenshot_picture.webp

-- for videos I get a different pop-up info screen that only gives me a file name. No file pathway. Hmmm....????
Screenshot_video.webp

So, when I go to look for a video's file name I can't find it... anywhere. I did a search through Windows Explorer of my phone -- no results for a video's file name:
search_results.webp

I have no clue what's going on. All I know is I can't pull any of these videos off my phone. Ouch.

Well.... DUH!!!
I figured it out.
When I connected the phone to the computer, the computer was reading the device as "camera" not as "media device". Once I made that switch then it showed me the video files in the DCIM folder.

Annoying. But glad I finally figured it out. Thanks all for your replies!

Glad to hear you got it fixed.

Totally forgot about having to switch it to media device since it comes so natural to me now.
