How do I get back to the start up screen?

I recieved my replacement phone today, while i was trying to activate the phone I accidentally hit the home button and i cannon get back to the screen. It is the very first screen you go to when you get a new phone. Any help?

you could do a factory data reset to get there but its really not needed . and welcome to the forums .

I removed the sim card from my old phone and placed it in my new phone. If I do a factory data reset will it erase all of the data on the sim card?

No the data on the sim is safe unless you fry it..
