How do I format new sd card?

Hi. I just bought a 16gb SD card for my DX. Am I correct in assuming that I should first unmount my old card, install the new one, format it, then reload all my pics & music onto the new card? Am I omitting any important steps?

Sounds right, you probably don't even need to format it if you bought it new.
