How do I follow using twitter widget?

Maybe I'm deficient but I don't see how to follow someone using this? Of course I use the simpler, smaller widget so maybe the other is more fully featured?

All I want to do is follow my kids' middle school. I don't even see anything that would let me search for it.

I'm new to twitter too so it's possible there is an obvious easy fix or maybe the widget isn't designed for this?

Click the left side of the Widget. That should open the program to whatever Tweet was up when you clicked it.
Click the Magnifying glass at the top.
You can search there and follow people/companies from there.

Maybe we are talking about different widgets? Its not possible to "click the left side" and there is no magnifying glass that I can see, even if u click on a tweet.

You must be using the HTC app that comes with it called: Peep?
I don't use that. Didn't like it.
Get the official Twitter app or the other well reviewed one called Tweetcaster.
I tried both and always come back to the official Twitter one.

You know it's funny but I tried all the top ones and came back to the official app too! It's not perfect but I just like it better.

And yeah peep just doesn't get it lol
