You can go into apps and then say turn off notifications on that app but I believe the next time it reinstalls an update it turns notifications back on.
Separately is there a way to make it more permanent. Is there a way to make it so then when you get a text it auto disables alert sounds for a period of time say 5 minutes for that person so you don't get multiple sounds for the duration of the conservation without turning down the volume or switching to vibrate or silent by holding power button?
