My son loves spongebob. And watching him on my phone in the car or at dinner is perfect for him and me. Problem is 99% of the real clips on youtube are less than 1 min, the rest are fake. i plan on buying him a I touch for himself, but in the mean time i still would like to be able to have a movie on my phone.

I have been looking all over the Verizon media store for full episodes but can't find anything.

I get most of my shows from crackberry.com in their forums they have a movies and videos section. People record, convert then upload movies to Megaupload.com then post them there. They are in mp4 format. Also I use realplayer (free version) to download clips or vids I see on the internet pretty much anywhere. It has a built in converter that converts to HTC format and several others. It will also directly transfer to the device you have connected. Real easy to work with. For you specific content I don't know where to find it. Just search. Whenyou do find it use those methods. They both work great.

How do you get them from that site onto your phone though? I'm a retard with this stuff.

its all drag and drop. Just open a window for the phone SD card. Mine has a file labeled movies. Find the downoladed file you have on the PC and drop it onto the movies folder.

If you want to rip DVD's there are a few programs to do that. I use cucusoft ultimate DVD ripper and rip them to a MP4 format that is the same as for my Ipod Touch and they play well. Sometimes I get some skipping but not too bad

Agreed. Drag and drop is the simplest way to do it. I use the free version of realplayer to convert video to the Android g3p format. You can convert 1 or many videos at once. Then when they are done there is an option to transfer them to your phone.

190 people look and not one knows how to do this, some forum this is.
...and five hours later - multiple replies...all things take time...and after a comment like this people still come in and give advice -

So Yes, Some Forum This Is

I made backups of iron man and a few others for my son on my phone with one click dvd and a few different progs. I use arcmedia and the stock player to get the use of a few good codecs. Mp4, m4v and avi with the h. 264 work great and at the correct resolution are tiny....can even use the higher res ones with no problem other than space. The phones can use up to 32 gb. I have an 8 and just keep 2 or 3 at a time.

Many many ways to get videos converted, encoded and transferred to your phone for sure. Try many or just a few. You will find the right way for when you do. I use a 16 gig card and keep several movies at a time on mine. As time passes I convert more and stick them in a folder then when I am through with the ones on the phone I swap out the empty folder for the new.

Netflix will have an app to watch instantly soon and their prices for their plans are actually decent. Best way to go in my opinion.

Well, if you have your own content, you should check out DVD Catalyst. I think they're a sponsor on here. I had been using other programs but DVD Catalyst makes it simple. Just pop in a DVD or drag a file to the program and it takes care of the rest. The program has several presets to convert the video properly for whatever device you are using. It even crops out black bars on wide screen movie to make the resulting video file fill the screen of whatever device you are using.

I'm not a shill for the developer, just a satisfied customer and $10 is a bargain for all the time it has saved me.

Ohhh, so an app that allows you to take DVD movies and format them to a movie format file that will play on your phone? Def must check this one. Thanks Erik.
