Hotmail

Does anybody know how to set a hotmail account on the Droid.

Thanks Peter.

01 - Open DROID Browser

02 - Type www. hotmail. com in URL box

03 - Type In Username/Password

04 - DONE! :)

Note: Adroid 2.0 doesn't appear to support hotmail accounts in the same manner as it does gmail.

You should be able to set up hotmail accounts within the mail client just the same as you do yahoo accounts.
Can only be done through POP3 at least that I know of or could find. (I think there is an IMAP setting but couldn't find it)

The following are the options to set that up:

Pop3 Server: pop3.live.com (Port: 995)
Incoming Uses SSL: On
Authentication: Password
Delete from Server: When removed from inbox
SMTP Server: smtp.live.com (Port: 25)
Outgoing Uses SSL: On
Authentication: Password

While I did get the POP3 server configured and it worked, I could not input the SMTP server, it kept telling me failed to connect to server, so if someone can figure this out, that would be great.

I've tried... with no success.

That's what i figured, is why i posted the POP3 account stuff. This was all listed on microsofts site as what to put in there. The POP3 info goes in great and connects, the SMTP does not.

Got both POP3 and SMTP to work. It is not SSL listed on Microsoft site, it is TLS.

I bought my droid at verizon and the sales person set up all my email accounts for me including hotmail with no problems. Stop by your local verizon store, they should be able to help

I setup my Gmail account to forward my Hotmail address to it. Now I get my Hotmail on my phone using the great Gmail capabilities of the Droid.
