Horrible Wifi Problem

I switched to a new phone, but still want to use my Droid 1 occasionally on my wifi network. I turned it on to find that it constantly switches the wifi from on to off almost every 2 seconds. Does anyone know why this would happen? It is running 2.2.2. I can't even use it if I can't this to work, because I don't have the 3G data network on it anymore.

...It hasn't been turned on in a few months. I don't think this would affect it, but it's just one extra detail I thought I'd add. Also, a factory reset didn't solve it.

I have been having the same problem too hopefully someone here that has had the same issue will help us out. I have even issued its own ip n nuttin. I read that it might be a manual switching from 3g (turn off) to wifi (turn on) to work and I am testing that theory now...will let u know tho what i come up with.

Well I got a wifi widget, deleted non used wifi ap's n made sure my home wifi pswd matched and bam its working. Wifi n 3g on at same time w wifi (signal stronger) taking precedence over 3g at home or with a strong wifi signal.
