Are there any hidden charges like using data whyle roaming? Or shouls l keep set to no roaning for data.
Are there anything else i should be aware of?

My worry is that if I have data data enabled while roaming will I incur a cost? I know theres no extra charged if my phone makes voice calls on other networks but what about data?

well by default the droid turns data roaming off. As far as ive heard there are no additional charges for data roaming....but even if that is a lie data roaming is already off when you get your phone and if you turned it on and got charged its your own fault.

Yes it would be my own fault I was just trying to find out if there really qould be a charge. I guess ill give them a call and ask.

I just talked to verizon and she said there wouldn't be any charges for using data while roaming. She said it might be slower but there woldnt be any charges.

Is there anyplace in this country that would be considered roaming? Or is this only when traveling abroad? cuskit

I don't know about that. I did some web browsing on my phone when I was in Toronto, and I had data charges that month...

that because you were out of the usa silly lol

Well the kid asked about any kind of roaming...it is pretty hard to enter roaming while you are in the US...Verizon is everywhere.

I apologize for wasting space if everyone already knew this...

There is no roaming within the US. Once you go across US borders, there is an international charge. There are plans for that, however... otherwise there should no be any other kind of geographical fees that would go along with you anywhere inside the US.

she wasnt real clear about international charges but she made it sound like there wouldnt be any fee for data outside the US

I asked the question because I'm old enough to remember (yea - 10 years ago) when there were MANY spots in the USA that were "roaming" areas! Right here in Jersey we had two sections within 10 miles of me. I just wanted to clarify that times have changed...

By the way - Hawaii is not roaming for VZW. But British Virgin Islands is. Don't ask me how I know! ;) mike
