Hello everyone

Just got my droid 2 friday and I've been looking to customize it with a new theme or launcher. I want something that looks amazing and somewhat unique so my friends will love what they see. But I also want it to be functional for daily use.

Anyone have any cool recommendations or screenshots? Maybe a list of addons or apps?

you mean the dock? just long press one of the icons then you can set it to what you want and use any icon you want

No im not rooted. Don't really know much about it actually. I heard if you do it wrong u can break ur phone and can't get a replacement

also astro (free), and every1 has there own fav music app, my fav is mixzing (free)

on rooting, there are sbf's which you flash using rsdlite that will fix it if you screw somethin up...if you are interested, BEFORE YOU DO IT you should read up on it, then read up on it some more. knowing what you are doing makes it simplier and if you encounter a prob you'll basically know how to dell with it

and you can use z4root which will 1-click root it

Rooting gives you more control over your device; in order to install new ROMs, for example, you have to be rooted. Other advantages include:

*Free wi-fi tethering (using the proper app)
*Ability to back up your phone
*Ability to "freeze" certain apps (requires Titanium Backup) or remove them (requires Root Explorer or similar)
*Ability to install ROMs (such as Fission, which I use)

I think what most people start hacking their phone for is the free wi-fi tethering. If that doesn't interest you, check out the custom ROMs available for your D2. If it's not for you, it's not for you, and no one will judge you

I luckily already have free tethering (yay pdanet) I got in on a promotion they had to get their paid version for free. But I will look into it.

well most importantly Bootstrap(thx to Koush), which gives you CW Recovery

root explorer, wireless tether, titanium backup, drocap2, metamorph, hot reboot and MANY MANY othersdancedroid

i myself can say i used the one click root not the app from the market but the one click bat file presented in the xda fourms...and it works very well...i have also used the rsdlite and sbf files due to errors when updating to the lastest froyo update. but overall i can say rooting your phone is not as hard you just got to pay attention
