Help With Rooting Droid Incredible

hello evreyone viewing this ive got a droid incredible with a baseband 2.3.4 its the original droid incredible
ive tried everything and still no luck i get about half way through the process and it says permission denied
id really like to root my phone if its possible things ive used have been unrevoked scotty85 posting and a few on youtube

I just successfully rooted and got s-off using scotty85's new procedure posted on androidforums.
