HELP viewing DATA on PC or Phone

So ive been trying to root my verizon S3. I just want to be able to view the "Data" portion of my files. Ive hooked my phone up to my PC and have gone into the file i want to see where there should be very much inside. however it comes up as " No files located" How can i view these files? can i root my phone with the most recent update?


I hook my phone up and go phone>android>data then any file i try and load comes up as empty

You say "data" portion but you don't say where. There is a data area of the S3 that doesn't require root to see so where exactly are you looking for this data?
