Help please. 1and1 email issues

So I had an iPhone and decided to get an HTC One.

I followed all the right directions to set up email on it and its not working. I get emails in but when I try to send emails it puts them in the outbox and doesn't actually send them. I am not sure whats wrong and I am hoping someone on here can help me out.

I have several customers using IMAP on 1AND1 with Android. They don;t use what you would think is the standard SMTP port for a mobile device. Check this page for a possible hint.
