Help on Kernel post root

rotormedic

New Member
I am curious and a noob here rooted my thunderbolt used ROM manager and was told per the video to use the flash clockwork mod recovery and I did post rootin it. But I want to install a kernel on it to get better performance and less drain on this battery hawg. I am just curious is there a good kernel download and how to do it . I have not a freaking clue need some guidance or someone to help me out is there step by step instructions ?

First thing you want to do is make a backup before you so anything else. After that you can either download kernel manager or search on xda for a kernel. Find your kernel and you can flash through Rom manager or in recovery by wiping dalvik cache and choosing zip from SD then choosing the kernel reboot and that's it. Most people who dev kernels have instructions in their posts.
