HELP -Cannot uninstall an app

When I try to uninstall "Improved Email," I get an "Uninstalled was not successful" notice. It's version 2.0.

I have tried turning the phone on and off. I force stopped it before the uninstall. I tried reinstalling it. I have tried "clear data" before the uninstall.

It is not set up to collect email. Just loaded the app.

How do I remove it???

Haven't messed with this app but does it give you the option to move the app to the SD card? If it does, move it and then hook up USB and delete it from a PC.

Removing apps

Does anyone know how to remove apps that were installed before the phone was purchased such as VPN client, DLNA, News etc.? I tried going through the android market and it would not work.

To remove pre-installed apps such as VZ Navigator, Skype, etc. you need to root your phone. Such programs cannot be uninstalled without root access.

Is that a good idea? Rooting your phone? How would you do that? I hope that doesn't mess up the phone.

Uninstalling Improved Email app

Had this same problem with Improved Email.

Found this advice on another forum, which worked for me:

• Uncheck Device Admin from "Settings > Location & Security >" Select device administrators and uncheck "the app"
• Retry uninstall
