Nope it is not a battery waste for me..

Has anyone got helix launcher 2 to work with BB v.8? I am getting fc's as soon I launch it.

Works great on my Droid with BB v0.8, 5 screens with lots of widgets. Did you clear your screens of all widgets,apps before you used it? I am using version 1.2A.

Why would you have to clear your screen first? The launcher starts out with all empty screens. BB v.8 isn't compatible with helix launcher, v.9 is though.[/QUOTE]

You clear your normal home screens so you don't have any conflicts with widgets/apps that aren't needed. Helix launcher 1.2a is fully functional with BB v0.8, I have been running it now for several days.

Just installed it, I really like the four permanent icons you can set at the bottom of the screen.

Is there any way to set which of your screen is you home/default screen. Like for example, I have 4 screens setup...................is there a way to make it that that when I press the home button, it returns to the very far right screen, or something else?

I have installed this and been using all 7 screens, might as well, loving it. Every now and again I will get a "Force Close" message but it just clears the widgets for a second but reverts back to my configuration.

helix is great, but i'm a bigger fan of home++ because of the powerbar

unfortunately, it fc's too much and isn't compatible with all my widgets (not to mention the app drawer is CRAZY slow), so helix it is (2nd best by only a hair)

The market version does not support this yet, and I say yet as the newest beta in the developers donator page (1.3beta2) does do this in Helixlauncher. My guess owuld be that this feature will eventually hit the market version(s).

I have cleared everything from all the screens and installed helix 2.. as I run it, force closes as well..

So I switched back to Helix 1

How do you add shortcuts in the bottom 4 ? Trying to add handcent instead of messaging on.. Thanks

Helix is the best I've used. It's very fast and takes up minimal resources. Love the ability to put 4 shortcuts on the bottom.

If 2.1 doesnt include more than three screens I'll be using this.

I had helix2 working on BB.9, but it loaded SO SLOW.
When I clicked on phone/handcent, it took about 3-5 seconds to load it.
I switched to helix (not the 2.1 app drawer) and its loading regularly now.

I really want the 2.1 app drawer, but i cant deal w/ the lag, has anyone experience anything similar?

I'm unrooted and I downloaded Helix and really liked it for the first few days.

I've tried home++, launcer, sweeterhome, etc...and they all we're slightly buggy and I couldn't stand it (OCD).

Helix is definitely the LEAST laggy of all the replacement home's, but it is NOT perfect.

Beautiful Widgets will sometimes blink off before showing up when I go to my main home screen, and flicking from screen to screen isn't as smooth as stock home.

Oh well...I'll just wait to 2.1 and just pray that we'll get more than 3 screens.

Dont ever accidently choose 1 screen for helix as it will put you in a non recoverable FC loop.

I had the same problem...don't try the widget shortcut...

open the menu and scroll down till you see the handcent icon, then push and hold that icon and drag it to your desktop first, then drag it down there...that's how i did it. hope that helps!

Im enjoying helix. Ive had very little problems with it. The occasional lag, but that is here and there. No FC errors for me, and I have been running our for awhile now.

Ok I'm having a brain fart. How do I set Helix as my default home so I don't have to keep choosing every time I hit the home button. I know but for the life of me am drawing a blank.
