Helix Launcher 1.4 beta

Any one had experience with this one. Donaters only get pre-release updates.
I was running HL1 worked fine. Moto Droid, DM1.
Donated, downloaded new Beta. everything force closes. Uninstalled (for now). Anyone....thoughts? Help?

Answer - Wont work on DroidMod or non 2.1 systems. Learned the hard way.

I installed 1.4 beta on my Moto droid and it's working fine. Has many features of HelixLauncher 2, which didn't work on Moto Droid.

I read that the developer said H1.4b wouldn't work with DroidMod because it " is a faked 2.1" therefore incompatible. I mean, it could be wrong, but it didn't work for me. Are you running DroidMod, Grey Parrot?

If DroidMod is a root, then no, I'm stock.

I installed this 1.4 Beta also and everything works flawlessly exept when you add an icon shortcut to a homescreen and press it it force closes, making it useless. I am a Helix1 user usually and have never had an issue with it. Helix2 will not even open for me, all I really want is the 3D glass Launcher table and if I could hack this to Helix1 I would be perfectly happy

That would be correct. Droidmod is a 2.0.1 ROM with some of the 2.1 features "hacked" in to it....

Droidmod is so old I'm surprised there are still people using it....they haven't updated it since a good bit before 2.1 came out.

What features does it have over the Market Helix1?

I liked that you could hide the notification bar and icon titles in Helix2, but hated the lag. Are these features in 1.4?

1.4 working great...until i saw launcherpro...stock 2.1 (rooted & OC'd)

I would switch to launcher pro in 1 second if I could customize the icons on the bottom row. It is smooth... fast... and i love the pinch feature.

NOTE: Referencing Launcher Pro...I just realized that when you click on messaging it will let you set your default sms application. Same for browser. If you click on it it will open the default browser but when you try and go to a site it will ask you what browser to use and if you set it as default it will use that browser from now on when you click on that button.

That works for me almost perfect....cept where the contacts is i usually put the facebook application. no biggie... lets see how stable this is :-D

P.S. Helix Launcher is awesome!!! Especially 1.4 but this pinch thumbnail preview is AMAZING! The one feature i coveted from Sense UI.
