hdmi mirror mode missing

Hey everyone, I got my phone in november and have had only a few problems.
First problem was when the phone went blank. I had just waken up and looked at my phone for the time, then I set it
down to use the bathroom. Upon returning the phone was blank and I had to do a hard reset. No big deal. It has worked fine ever since.

Recently I decided to buy a micro hdmi so I can hook the phone to the tv. When I plug it in the phone will go into
horizontal screen mode, but the T.V. will remain blank. I've tried watching videos, using the gallery, and browsing with
no luck. Ever since to updated the phone to 4.1.1 I have noticed that hdmi mirror mode is missing. Is this correct? Has
anyone else noticed this or is my update out of wack?

HDMI Mirror

Two thoughts on your issue:

1: Bad/cheap HDMI cable

2: Old TV (or a Sony)

Beyond that, I can't help you. Mine works great.
