SiliconDust has been developing a DIY DVR software for more than a year. Until now the app has required a PC build specifically for use as a DVR. They have announced they are testing HD HomeRun Record for Android TV. This means you can turn your Nvidia Shield TV into a DVR. Users with the 500GB version should have plenty of space to store all of their favorite TV Shows. You can watch recorded shows from the device. You can also watch shows from any device that can run their viewer app. This is not ready for release but it will be one really nice DVR setup once it is ready.
