Having problems downloading froyo..help

i do all the steps to check for new updates and without prevail its says :
SEVER UNAVAILABLE

Check for Software Update
when server is Available...

whats going wrong?

May be an issue on VZW's end...

try doing it on WIFI if you arent already...also try rebooting then trying the update
 
I just restarted it about two hours ago havent downloaded a thing still nothing im pissed im stuck with this stupid phone

Ya know you could just root and install a custom FROYO Rom which are beyond better than any update you will recieve from VZW...im just saying
 
where should i go for that? i have rooted it once but my phone bugged had to reset it...that was pre froyo though
 
Best thing I ever done. Take Tapouts advise root it and put froyo, roms,kernals and themes. You will be much happier.
