So, using handcent, when it splits The message, I get a text from Verizon saying the message was split. Any way to disable that?

Try going into the stock Messaging app. Then menu on the phone and choose Settings. Remove all the check marks on all the boxes.

That sounds like disasbling notificstions for stock msg app. I'm asking how to keep verizon from messaging me every time I send a msg that had to be sent in multiple parts, due to sms's 160 char limit is exceeded

Go into Handcent settings and look for the Split 160 option, and change it to simple split. It will split your messages before sending so Verizon doesn't do it for you.

on a side note (because I think the guys have already answered the question), is there anyway to make split messages show up as one continuous message in your threaded conversations?
