handcent has elaborate settings for led control. u need to examine them closely.

You know I wonder if this is just a Droid problem, I have the same problem from a different app called Flash LED Your Way I think it's called and it permanently messed up my notification light. Now it works when it wants to, it will work for awhile then out just stops but it also comes back after a while, and it really bugs me too. I can't find any way to fix it either. I didn't see if you had a Droid X but maybe the x's are more susceptible to having problems with the notification light.

Had the same problem with handcent on my Droid X. LED would not flash even when set to flash.

I had the same problem. I changed the blink rare until I changed the Flash frequency. Here is it's location:

Menu
Settings
Notification settings
Notification settings (customize the notifications)
LED Flash frequency

Is the screen off? The LED won't blink unless it's off.
