Gtalk won't sign in!

Hello! Last night, I noticed that I had lost the connection to my server, in GTalk. I haven't been able to get it to sign in since then. Also, and I have a feeling it is all related, my Gmail won't update unless I hit refresh and my downloads in the market aren't downloading.

I have a Motorola Droid the First and is unrooted. I am hoping to avoid going back to factory settings, if anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it!!

In case anyone else comes across this same problem, I ended up taking it back to factory default settings. Worked like a charm!
