Group Chat in Gtalk?

I tried searching but can't find a way. Is there a way to make a chat room or talk to multiple people within the same chat using the gtalk app?

Several months ago three of us on the rescue squad were able to be on a single session. I did not set it up but participated. I'll contact the initiator and ask him to reply.

on the gtalk app on android, when in a chat with a person, you can press the menu button and select add to chat

The client app, that is on your computer, does not have a multi-chat option.

If you visit gmail.com you can set up mult-chat via the little chat windows there.

And as stated, while on the phone the Android app also has multi-chat capabilities.
