got the update yesterday and.......disappointed

So I installed the update, official update, with the list saying fixes data drops...in the past half hour 3 drops. Oh and the update which fixes the popping in the headphones...guess what? After 20 mins I had popping again! Really? I know phones will have some bugs, but c'mon......A $300 in contract phone, had it 3 months before an update to fix the bugs, not fixed...now what? Go to Verizon to get a refurbed phone?

Sorry dude, that's lame. It definitely is frustrating. I have actually loved the small improvements that were made in this update. I am trying to be really patient until ICS. If it still sucks then, well.........there's nothing left for the Bionic to look forward to.

I downloaded the update this morning and my phone was worse then ever. Five data losses in the first 30 minutes. Took the phone to a VZW store and luckily my phone lost the data connection while I was there. It took 15 minutes for it to come back. VZW is sending me another phone next day air. I've been told, (I'm taking this with a grain of salt mind you), if this phone has issues I can have the phone of my choice, including the Nexus as long as I do the swap prior to 1/31/12. I watched while he type this memo into my account. This was all done by the store manager. We'll see I guess.

Supposedly there is another update coming out. I lost data today, but the update did greatly improve the camera and battery for me anyways.

I got the update yesterday too. I did lose data once last night but I have been constantly checking it all day today and it hasn't went out once. I think my problem is that I'm near a city that actually has 4G and it causes my phone to want to try and pick up that signal but it can't. Twice now in the last month when I looked at my phone it lit up saying 4G LTE instead of 3G. I believe that is my issue. There is no doubt my camera and battery are better now.

Well I'm in Philly, 1 of the 1st 4G cities, so I wouldn't hope it was a weak signal in the area, but it is frustrating. I love the phone otherwise, runs great, fast, but to lose data is a bunch of s#it. We pay premium $$ for these phones, premium $$ for our plans, there really shouldn't be a reason to put up with it. Imagine: I just just bought a brand new Mercedes, and on the way home it randomly shuts off. Do you think you would be happy with them telling you to put up with for a few months until they come up with a fix? Hell no. But we get shafted and have no choice but to put up with it....

I believe you can get it replaced with a new model. I've heard of people who were able to do it. If you contact verizon and just explain that you bought the Bionic had those issues, waited for the update, and it didn't do anything. See what they'll consider doing.

if you dont have 4G in your area try switching the setting to CDMA only, that might help.

DId you tun on data on roam? That seemed to help me before the update, and since the update haven't lost data yet... (crossing fingers.)
