Google's revenue up 33 percent for Q3 2011

Google today announced its earnings report for Q3 2011. We are hearing the word "billions" a lot. $9.72 billion in revenue for the quarter, which is up 33 percent from the same time period last year. Net income (GAAP) was $2.73 billion, also up from $2.17 billion for Q3 2011. With $46.2 billion in cash on hand.

Lots of money in the search business still. No Android news (Unfortunately) in the release, so stay tuned for the earnings call and Q&A.

Apple has $76 billion on hand. So about 65% more than Google. Or you could say Google has 60% of the cash on hand that Apple has. (mind you this is July Apple data vs Sept Google data)
