Google Voice Cost (Verizon)

I used YouMail for a couple of years for voicemail management. There was no charge for forwarding voicemails, just minutes for listening. I switched to Google Voice about three months ago and set up a number, then reset my VZW voicemail to forward to GV. Now, I use the Voice app to check voicemail and it doesn't even cost minutes, since it's data usage. I also text from my GV account using the Android app and it doesn't appear to have any affect on my text plan.
