Google Texts/Vmail delay :-(

Anyone not getting Google texts and voicemails sent to Droid quickly like me? For the past week or so I've been getting notified (black phone symbol) on my Droid of google texts/vmails hours after they're sent. What is going on?

Yes, I have had delays too - and problems with people calling and it not ringing. I think there were some big issues the last few days (it is fixed now). Yesterday and the day before I was getting text messages 5-8 hours later.

I haven't noticed any but there's certainly at least one other existing thread on this.
